The Rampton family from Medstead emigrated to America, and ended up in Utah.

Catherine Rampton, born in Tadley in 1835, and a member of the Monk Sherborne Ramptons, seems to have emigrated to America along with her two brothers, Anthony and Edmund. I have found a reference to her on the web, on Jan Devan's site.

Ramptons in Australia

Antipodean Ramptons can be found in the later generations of my Family Tree. See John Rampton of Tadley and go to William RAMPTON (born 1851) for the family which emigrated to Queensland. This family can also be found at Peter Worley's website.

Meanwhile a completely different family of RAMPTONs, originating in Whitchurch, also emigrated to Australia. I am currently in the process of identifying these and tying up loose ends, at which point I shall publish my findings.
