Additional Information

Christopher was baptised in MS on 10 Oct 1790 and died there on 13 May 1865, aged 77. His death certificate describes him as a Gardener, and he died of Bronchitis. Mary KIMBER (Christopher's daughter Mary Mattingley RAMPTON) was present at his death and registered the death at Basingstoke Register Office. He was buried at MS on 18 May 1865.

Christopher married Sarah MATTINGLEY on 24 Aug 1815 at MS. In the 1851 Census, Christopher and Sarah were living next door to brother Anthony in West Heath, MS, together with their younger children Emily, Eliza, and Mary, as well as two nieces, Amelia (born circa 1843 in MS) and Elizabeth (born circa 1845 in Wootton St Lawrence). Sarah died on 11 Dec 1864, aged 76, of Chronic Bronchitis, as shown on her death certificate. Her daughter Mary KIMBER was also in attendance and registered the death. The MS Parish Register records that she was buried at on 17 Nov 1864, which is patently not possible! Either the Register at Basingstoke is wrong about the month or the Clerk mis-transcribed it in the PR (which is the more likely explanation).
