Additional Information

This is the Edward referred to in his burial entry as Edward "The Elder", the son of Stephen (no mother's name given). I have not been able to find a record of his marriage, and his will does not mention the name of his wife, but there is a record of the burial of "Edith Rampton, widow" on 6 May 1683 at MS, and since no other record links an Edith with another Rampton man, this could be the widow of Edward. Despite the fact that he was a humble labourer, Edward left a will on his death in Sep 1665, including an inventory of all his goods and chattels.
