Additional Information

Like his brother Thomas, John joined the Methodist Church, and all his children were baptised in either the Tadley or the Kingsclere Chapel. In 1861, John, Jane, Rhoda and Rachel were living in Broadhalfpenny, Tadley, close by parents John and Hannah. At some time between 1872 and 1881, the family moved to Barnes in Surrey, but John does not seem to have changed his occupation - he is still given as a Timber Hewer in the 1881 Census.
