Of the children who had left home the 1881 census shows the following: Frank was a Gamekeeper in Hartley Mauditt, Kate was a dairy maid at Pierrepont House, Frensham, Alice was servant to a farmer in Farnham, Fanny was Cook to a Spice Merchant in Croydon, and Stephen was living in Repton Derbyshire with wife Rosanna and daughter Alice.
