Additional Information

When Edmund Henry married Hannah, he said he was of Worting, a labourer, son of Edward Thomalson watchmaker. He married as Henry, and seems to have preferred that name, as he gave it when his children's births were registered and when the census enumerators came to call. It is not certain that Thomas Henry GILLIAM (or GILLAM)was the son of Edmund Henry RAMPTON, but in the 1861 Census, the enumerators named him Thomas RAMPTON rather than GILLIAM.

In 1861, the family lived in Cliddesden Road Basingstoke, in 1871 at Worting Town's End, in 1875, they were living at Castleman Cottage Basingstoke, in 1881 at Mattingley (still accompanied by Edwin and Harry). In 1891, Edmund and Hannah lived at Lower Mill Farm, Basing with their granddaughter, Bertha R. GILLIAN sic, aged 15. In 1901, Edmund and Hannah were still in Basing.

When Hannah was buried in 1915, her abode was given as The Workhouse Infirmary, Basing. I have not as yet found Edmund's death.
