In 1851, at the time of their marriage, William and Maria gave 23 Wst Street Neckinger Bermondsey as their address, but in 1852 they had returned to Old Alresford. In 1881, they were living in Prospect Cottage, Old Alresford, and in 1891 Maria, now widowed, had Charles and his family lodging with her at the same address. She was described as an Ironfounder and Blacksmith.

In the 1880 US Census, son Henry is shown as living in Bountiful Utah with his aunt Frances, second wife of Henry the Mormon pioneer.
