Additional Information

The Parish Clerk at Whitchurch failed to enter the names and occupations of James' and Jane's fathers when he filled in their marriage certificate. However, with George and Esther being the witnesses, it is not too difficult to identify the correct family. James was cut down in his prime, two months after his son was baptised, and two months before his only son also died. Jane had been a wife for less than a year. She waited for more than three years before becoming one again, marrying Henry DUDMAN on 14 Oct 1841 at Whitchurch.
