Their Children
Where They Lived
Japanner is a fairly unusual occupation, and I have so far come across only two BRYERs described as such, this William and a Henry. I suspect very strongly that they were brothers. William BRIER/BRYER was living at 18 Townsend Street, St George the Martyr Southwark in 1841, the house where Joseph Henry BRYER, the father of Henry, was to die 8 years later. William said he was born in county in 1841 and his age (20) suggests he was born around 1821. I have not yet found him in the 1851 census, but there is a William BRYER, House Painter, living in Bean Street Southwark in the 1881 census who might be the same William, but further investigation is needed before linking them any more closely.
